Monitoring and evaluation
The National Strategy Monitoring and Evaluation Framework (Framework) outlines the impact we are seeking to make under the National Strategy and how progress towards this intended impact will be measured. It provides transparency and accountability for the activities of governments, organisations and communities under the National Strategy.

National Strategy Monitoring and Evaluation Framework
We released the National Strategy Monitoring and Evaluation Framework on 13 June 2024.
The National Strategy Monitoring and Evaluation Framework (Framework) will measure progress towards the National Strategy’s objective – to reduce the risk, extent and impact of child sexual abuse and related harms in Australia.
Meeting this objective requires achieving a wide range of medium- and long-term outcomes for children and young people, communities, families, services and organisations. The Framework provides a roadmap for these outcomes, which will be achieved through nationally coordinated action in all jurisdictions and sectors and effective leadership at all levels.
The Framework will be used to monitor and evaluate progress under the National Strategy throughout 2021-2030. This progress will be publicly reported through four key outputs:
- National Strategy Annual Reports
- National Strategy Data Dashboard
- Evaluations of National Strategy activities
- Evaluation of the First National Action Plan and First Commonwealth Action Plan.
